The case for international investing

The case for international investing

If you're looking to increase your clients' global exposure, mFunds are a simple way to uncover international investment opportunities.

In this month's mFund Asset Class series, find out how you could help your clients:

  • Increase their portfolio diversification with exposure to sectors traditionally underrepresented in Australia (e.g. technology & healthcare);
  • Get exposure to markets with different economic, political and demographic profiles;
  • Reduce their portfolio risk and volatility when combining international and Australian assets;
  • Avoid over-exposure to the Australian dollar;
  • Access professionally managed portfolios and benefit from the fund managers' expertise and experience;
  • Access a wide range of investments in one transaction.

How do your clients' portfolios compare?

Australian investors typically allocate 50% or more of their equity portfolio to the domestic market.

 This home bias can result in many portfolios lacking diversification and being overweight in sectors which dominate the Australian market.
